There are few ecotourism operators in Central Otago. We see significant opportunity to undertake ecotours for local and international visitors, either run by the Trust or in partnership with a tourism company. Our focus would be on the lowland public conservation reserves in Central Otago. These lowland reserves are rare examples of protected lowland dry environments that offer a range of biodiversity for visitors to see and discuss. They also contain large numbers of historical relicts from the gold mining era. The landscapes in and beyond the reserves provide stunning backdrops.
